Congratulations on being selected as the Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate for The Wrekin.
As you know Pritchard was backed by Lord Ashcroft and his cronies at the last election, who poured thousands of pounds into The Wrekin before the election was called to support Pritchard’s negative propaganda. Can you find out how much he spent on his recent parliamentary newsletter? – would be interested to know cost of postage and envelopes and cost of glossy leaflet!
You only need 942 voters to switch back to Labour to win The Wrekin, so good luck, it can be done!
Hi Paul
Just testing the system. Not too good at negotiating websites but learning fast.
All the best
Mary Lewis
Congratulations Paul on an informative and friendly website. You have clearly been very busy – and your website gives lots of information that people can chew over. Best wishes. Beryl.
Dear Paul,
My neighbour in Vineyard Drive called in today and during our conversation she told me that she had been to a council meeting to represent the allotment association. She has been on the waiting list for 3 years and shares an allotment with another family. Apparently there are 84 people on the waiting list and only 30 allotments. Do you have any advice or would this be someting you could take up?
Good Morning Paul.
You are aware no doubt that there is currently a “Drop in Surgery” being built in the grounds of the PRH. This will of course reduce the number of people attending the A&E at the PRH, thus reducing the input figures for the A&E at the PRH. It will then be easier to reduce the facilities of the A&E based on through put figures.
Can you please explain why five (5) Labour members of the Planning Committee of the TWC adstained from voting for or against the proposed planning application but still draw their committee allowances.
Every member of the Planning Committee was informed that the facility should have been sited in the Leegomery Centre and each received a lcopy of a letter signed by local Doctor, Mr Chowdury stating this fact.
Ron – thank you for your comments. I visited the new Drop In facility recently and was quite impressed by the set up. Another example of Labour’s policy on healthcare in action. I don’t know the history of the decision making process to site it there rather than Leegomery was but I’ll take it up with the Labour Group.
Thank you for drawing this to my attention
Regards
Paul

Thnk you Paul, I look forward to hearing from you.
Good luck in your campaign Paul. A tough ask in the current climate but if anyone can do it – you can.
Regards
I’m under 40, I want house prices slashed, want compensated for my final salary pension having been cancelled, want university fees abolished – my now halved pension depends on the next generation’s wealth, want bloated public sector redundancy / pension arrangements abolished, want public sector pay scales replace with real world promotion based progression, and want the higher medical salaries halved.
The changes of the last 10 years have probably cost me five hundred thousand pounds over the course of my life (soaring house prices / cancelled pensions), and with average private sector pay rises of below 2% for the last decade, have ended any chance of my generation aspiring to the success of our parent’s generation.
2010 has so far been the year of politicians offering peanuts.
Guarantee house price slashing legislation, legislate to control lending and minimise debt, return the tax breaks to pensions, and reduce public sector remuniration to the get real levels we have in the private sector and your have my vote for life. End 10 years of “nothing.” Step up the politician that can delivery on the real long term wealth issues.
Dear Paul,
As a first time voter, I think it is important for young people to vote; otherwise it is a wasted vote. The idea of a democracy is that the people choose who they want, so therefore I think it is very important for everyone to vote. A lot of young people and children live in the area and do not realise that there votes can change things even though it is only one vote. I believe that if you can connect with the young generation, and give them what they want you will be prosperous. I would like to see more support for young families in the area, and more recreational activity areas for children and not just in the big towns, the small towns too. There are many people that vote from these smaller towns and it is important to give them what they want too. Many of the smaller areas are deprived of recreational areas and therefore parents have to travel miles to an area for the children.
For instance, a popular sport/recreational activity in this modern society is skateboarding/skating. It is not a crime to do this activity, and where is the main place we can do this in the area. The best place is in Newport, where an excellent facility has been made, the council look after and many people benefit from the area. More places like this need to be made, because many young people want an area like that but do not want to travel all the way from Sheriffhales or Shifnal. These areas give the young people something to do, a skill that helps in many ways, instead of causing touble in the streets.
This is just one example, I could write for hours of how you could improve the area but I need to write an essay for university, so please think of the younger generation and connect with them, because they are the future.
Yours Sincerely
Joshua
Joshua – I entirely agree with your comments. Investment in facilities for young people is essential. I am a great advocate of multi ball courts that can be used for a variety of sports. These things all cost money and Labour is committed to protecting investment in frontline services. The investment in schools and education has also helped give a lot of people a better start in life, enabling them to realise their full potential.
Best of Luck
